Who is the course for?
This training program is aimed at Flight Attendants, personal staff who undertake airborne duties on their principles aircaft and pilots working in private aviation. Food safety is a major issue for anybody working or involved in food handling activities. An incident of food poisoning or a severe reaction to a food allergen onboard an aircraft could be a very costly safety issue, and seriously damaging to the reputation of the aircraft operator. Corporate Flight Attendants have extended responsibilities as food handlers and are involved in many aspects of the on-board catering.
Course Objectives
The food safety program delivers thorough training and guidance on food safety and hygiene principles. It also addresses the limitations of working in a corporate aviation environment and the specific challenges that Flight Attendants working in the sector face in their daily operations. The food safety program provides Flight Attendants with the training, knowledge and certification to safely maintain such a vital responsibility and a complete understanding of their extended responsibilities as a food hander.
The training program consists of a number of E-learning modules completed prior to an in-depth one day training session. Candidates must complete the E-learning in order to prepare for the course. The program runs in London but can be delivered at client locations worldwide upon request.
Additional Information
The course was developed specifically for the unique corporate aviation environment. It is the first training program of its kind available within Europe and the EMEA regions. It delivers a recognised food safety qualification in-line with food safety legislation and standards within the EU. Any valid food safety training delivered to Flight Attendants located in these regions must comply fully with EU regulations and standards. Only valid food safety qualifications can be delivered by an approved food safety training organisiation and by taking an invigilated examination.
Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) is an internationally recognised awarding body offering qualifications and support materials in over 100 countries. They were instrumental in the development of the Person in Charge (PIC) role with the Dubai Municipality for Food Safety Training, which is now a legal requirement. HABC is regulated by OFqual, the Welsh Government, CCEA and SQA. Corporate Flight Training is an accredited HABC training centre. HABC Food Safety qualifications are widely recognised worldwide.
